It's been now 5 months that Focale 44 is a proud frame supplier of a messenger company in Barcelona called Imensajeros, Soon, you will read a dedicated page to this 5-rider team on this site. In the meantime, read here, in spanish : Dave Corkle, the tallest of the group, won the Miss and Out competition at the Mataró velodrome last friday (the 12th of november). He rode his custom painted baby blue Focale 44 cr-mo frame kit. That's probably the first ever victoryof a Focale 44 bike. Congratulations, Dave.

Cela fait désormais 5 mois que Focale 44 est le fournisseur de cadres d'une société de messengers de Barcelone, Espagne appelée Imensajeros. Bientôt sur ce site vous lirez une page dédiée à cette équipe de 5 messagers. En attendant, lisez ici, en espagnol : Dave Corkle, le plus grand de la bande a remporté la course Miss and Out au vélodrome de Mataró vendredi dernier (le 12 novembre). Il roulait sur son cadre cr-mo Focale 44 spécialement peint en bleu layette pour lui. Il s'agit probablement de la première victoire d'un Focale 44. Félicitations, Dave.

Focale 44 at the BFF Paris 2010

This coming week-end, november 5th/7th 2010, Focale 44 is a sponsor of the Bicycle Film Festival in Paris, France. 3 Focale 44 bikes will be custom painted by artists as well as matching helmet, polo mallet and polo balls. Supplied bikes are 2 Full Moon and the unique Polo Bike currently available in Europe (official Polo Bike production bikes will arrive late november).

Our sister company Superstar BMX is also partner of the event by supplying 2011 plastic pedals (UV version) for BMX jam bike polo contest prizes.

Spy shot : 2011 Focale 44 Polo Bike

That spy shot comes from Eurobike show, where La Finca Distribution displays our 2011 range this week. That Polo Bike has been developped in cooparation with a bikepolo team from Toulouse, France. Mainly with one of the crew : Théo Guerry. Starting from a Full Moon bike, we changed the following parts to make it polo-ready : short and raised stem, laidback seat post, confortable seat, 28/16 gearing, 2 chainguards, 700x28c tires and 48-spoke wheels. Yes, yes, 48s as we say in BMX field. Retail price should remain under 600 euros in Europe. Available in november 2010.
Before reading tons of bad words on forums, I want to tell that we know that this Polo Bike may not be perfect. However, it is better than nothing... Right ?
Additional info (sept 3rd) : the Polo Bike comes with 2 calipers brakes, 16T fixed cog + 16T freewheel (like all Focale 44 bikes since day 1).

Cette spy-shot provient du salon Eurobike où La Finca Distribution expose cette semaine notre gamme 2011. Ce Polo Bike a été développé en coopération avec une équipe de bikepolo de Toulouse. Notamment avec un des menbres : Théo Guerry. Partant d'un Full Moon, nous avons changé les pièces suivantes pour le rendre polo-ready : potence courte et relevée, tige de selle coudée, selle confortable, braquet 28/16, 2 protège-chaine, pneus 700x28c et des roues à 48 rayons. Oui, oui, des 48s comme on dit en BMX. Le prix public devrait rester sous les 600 euros en Europe. Disponible en novembre 2010.

Avant de lire tout un tas de critiques sur les forums, je souhaite préciser que nous savons que ce Polo Bike n'est peut-être pas parfait. Il a le mérite d'exister... D'accord ?
Information complémentaire (3 septembre) : le Polo Bike est livré avec 2 freins à machoire, un pignon fixe de 16 dents + une roue-libre de 16 dents (comme tous les Focale 44 depuis le premier jour).

2011 Focale 44 bikes in Eurobike show

These days, until saturday, our 2011 bikes are displayed on La Finca Distribution booth in Eurobike show, Germany (the biggest bike trade showon Earth). Thanks to road.cc, have a look at the 2011 Noble, the 2011 Relax and the 2011 Revolted. Those bike will be available in stores in november 2010. Another new 2011 will be out at the same time : the Focale 44 Polo Bike. Stay tuned for more info.

Ces jours, jusqu'à samedi, nous vélos 2011 sont exposés sur le stand de La Finca Distribution à Eurobike en Allemagne (le plus grand salon du vélo sur Terre). Relax bike in "The Bicycle Buyer" magazine

All right, we're a little late on this news... In their february/march 2010 issue, UK's "The Bicycle Buyer" released a Relax bike on the "What one's riding" page. Nice bike and rider. Happy to see cool women as Korin Torgut riding our bikes ! Thanks to Zeal for the deal.
Bon d'accord, nous sommes un peu en retard sur ce coup... Dans leur numéro de février/mars 2010, le magazine anglais "The Bicycle Buyer" publie un Relax dans sa rubrique "What one's riding". Focale 44 is a proud partner of the photo exhibition "Ceci n'est pas..." at "OK Daddy" store in Bordeaux, France. supported by Ambiguous. Yannis Varoutsikos and Yohan Colin shot fixed bikes and their riders with an artistic view. Starting on june 12th 2010, the exhibition will last 1 month. You can either come and see these pictures or watch the entire football word cup. Or both...

New Focale 44 production

As promised, you can see now pictures of the 4 Focale 44 models released on this 3rd production. By order of level : Full Moon (black), Relax (grey/gold), Noble (black/white) and Revolted (red/black). And the new color for frame kits : red clear coating. These new marvels are shipped from Taiwan next week. They'll be availble in the countries we're distributed from 2 to 6 weeks.
Comme promis, voyez les photos des 4 Focale 44 lancés sur cette 3e production. Par ordre de gamme : Full Moon (noir), Relax (gris/or), Noble (noir/blanc) et Revolted (rouge/noir). Et la nouvelle couleur pour les kits cadre : brut verni rouge. Ces merveilles seront expédiées de Taiwan la semaine prochaine et seront disponibles dans les pays dans lesquels nous sommes distribués entre 2 et 6 semaines.

New Focale 44 bikes next week

Next week, the third batch of Focale 44 bikes is the assembly line. 2 new bikes will be added to the range in addition to Relax and Noble bikes. There will also be a new color for the frame kit. Pictures and info no later than may 12th on this page.
La semaine prochaine, la 3e production Focale 44 passera sur les chaines d'assemblage. 2 nouveaux modèles sont ajoutés à la gamme en complément des Relax et Noble. Egalement, une nouvelle couleur pour les kits cadres. Des photos et infos le 12 mai au plus tard, sur cette page.

Sauma tailor shop in Helsinki

A few weeks ago, we received an uncommon request from Helsinki, Finland. Olli Holstikko from Sauma, a high class tailor shop, saw the Noble bike and wanted one to display in the window store. We connected him with Antti Huotari from Signature, Focale 44 distributor for Finland, Denmark, Estonia and Sweden. They dealed together and see the result. Isn't it classy ?

Voici quelques semaines, nous avons reçu une demande peu commune de Helsinki en Finlande. Olli Holstikko de Sauma, un atelier-tailleur haut de gamme, a vu le Noble et l'a voulu pour une installation en vitrine. Nous l'avons connecté avec Antti Huotari de Signature, le distributeur Focale 44 pour la Finlande, le Danemark, l'Estonie et la Suède. Ils se sont arrangés entre eux et voyez le résultat. N'est-ce pas chic ?

Bicycle 2010 show in Finland

This past week-end, Focale 44 bikes were displayed at "Bicycle 2010", Finland annual bike trade show. Signature, our distributor for Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Estonia, told us about the good success of our 2 bikes displayed there. Antti, Mikko : thank for your work.

Le week-end passé se déroulait le salon annuel du vélo en Finlande : "Bicycle 2010". Les Focale 44 y étaient visibles. Signature, notre distributeur pour la Finlande, le Danemark, la Suède et l'Estonie, nous a rapporté que les vélos ont remporté un beau succès. Antti, Mikko : merci pour votre travail.

28c tire clearance

Some of you asked about tire clearance on Focale 44 frames and forks. So I bought two 700X28c tires. I assembled them on my bike. Pictures confirm that it is no problem to ride 700x28c tires. There are around 2.5 mm gap each side of tire at chain stays and seat stays.
Ride with confidence, you're on a Focale 44.

Certains d'entre vous s'interrogent sur le montage de gros pneus sur les cadres et fourches Focale 44. J'ai donc acheté deux pneus 700x28c. Je les ai montés sur mon vélo. Les photos attestent que rouler avec des pneus 700x28c ne pose pas de problème. Environ 2,5 mm de marge de chaque coté du pneu au niveau des bases et des haubans.

Roulez confiants, vous êtes sur un Focale 44.
